Kaycliff Is Planning An Outdoor Learning Trail

Kaycliff Center at Boone Lake is preparing for a more public museum and outdoor learning role in Gray, Tennessee. The Atlas Trail is one of the main ideas being considered.
The trail would turn a roughly one-mile walk into an outdoor museum. Visitors would move from continent to continent without leaving Tennessee, using large outdoor panels, maps, images, stories, and simple questions designed to make geography, cultures, natural systems, history, art, and global connections easier to explore.
Kaycliff is asking local civic and community leaders for honest feedback before presenting the Atlas Trail as a finished public attraction.
Why Local Opinion Matters
The Atlas Trail could eventually matter to families, schools, youth groups, tourism partners, civic clubs, volunteers, and community organizations. But Kaycliff needs to hear from people who know this region before deciding how far to take the plan.
We are especially interested in:
- Whether the trail sounds useful for the Tri-Cities region.
- Which audiences might care about it most.
- What concerns should be solved before any public launch.
- Which educators, youth leaders, civic groups, tourism contacts, nonprofit partners, or local officials should be asked next.
- Whether this could eventually support visits, service projects, sponsorship conversations, or community programming.
What We Are Not Asking For Yet
Kaycliff is not asking for a donation, formal partnership, speaking slot, public endorsement, or promotion at this stage.
Right now, we are trying to understand whether there is real local interest, what the strongest objections are, and which people should help shape the next round of decisions.
Send Us Your Thoughts
If the Atlas Trail seems relevant to your organization or community, a short response would be helpful. You can tell us what sounds promising, what concerns you, or who else Kaycliff should ask.
After You Respond
Thank you for helping Kaycliff make a better local decision. Your response will help us identify useful partnerships, practical concerns, and community interest for board review.
