WELCOME TO KAYCLIFF CENTER

Stories waiting to be told...

The Kaycliff Center at Boone Lake is a multi-faceted facility located on the shore of Boone Lake in Washington County, Tennessee established to fulfill the educational, training, and recreational mission of the Kaycliff Foundation.

Kaycliff Foundation was established in 2002 by Judge Clifford E. Sanders and wife Kay as a not-for-profit corporation to maintain their extensive big-game trophy and anthropological artifacts collection in a museum-like setting for the use and benefit of the public for educational, training, and recreational purposes.

News:

For the past 9 years, the Kaycliff Foundation has been happy to offer the use of Cliff and Kay Sanders’ renovated lake cabin for use as a venue for corporate meetings, planning retreats, anniversaries, volunteer trainings, birthdays, fundraisers, Christmas parties, showers, engagement parties, and weddings.

All the events that we’ve hosted here have been a fun way to share this property in much the same way the Sanders did: by having a great time with friends.

In keeping with our long-term goals, the Foundation is implementing a plan for several projects that will allow us to carry out our educational and recreational mission.

In the coming months, we will be completing a walking trail around our property, revamping our exhibit spaces, and beginning to produce and curate ongoing classes in subjects that closely align with our mission, the varied interests of the Sanders, and the needs of our surrounding area.

While we undertake this phase of renovations, Kaycliff Center will still be available for meetings, classes, seminars, and workshops. We are also happy to announce that despite the considerable work involved in expanding the use of our property, we will still be available for a limited number of outside social events. These will be decided on a case-by-case basis and may be restricted by other programming and/or construction and renovation activity. Unfortunately, we will not be able to host weddings for the foreseeable future as we make these planned expansions.

For those of you who remember sharing this property with the Sanders while they were alive, you will remember the price of admission to many of their parties and gatherings: hearing their stories of adventures they experienced in their travels around the world. With upcoming changes, as the Foundation continues to tell their stories, we hope to encourage others to experience their curiosity and wonder, provide education about world cultures, and inspire adventure.
